I used very fine cotton thread Anchor Frecia nr. 12, worked with a 1.5mm hook. But you can use threads of other thicknesses if you find they are more comfortable to work with.

I've also been making homemade facial masks these days (just like half the world, I think). I made crochet masks and lined them inside with fabric, leaving one opened side to insert the filter. So I take this opportunity to tell you about the process I followed.

I found a very good video tutorial HERE. It seemed very easy to follow and the way of making the mask allows different sizes by increasing or decreasing stitches and rows. However, she uses a thicker yarn than what I get at home. So I decided to adapt her pattern to my yarn thickness which is Creative of Anchor Crafts, worked with a 2.5mm hook. This is a smaller hook than recommended because I wanted to get a high yarn tension so that the stitches were very tight.

As you can see, I sewed a piece of fabric on the inside, but leaving the upper side open, as a pocket, to insert the filter.
