Crochet garden blanket

Crochet blankets are for gardens. For summer gardens evenings indeed. At least, that's what I've always thought.

Las mantas tejidas a ganchillo son para los jardines. Para los jardines en los atardeceres de verano, en realidad. Al menos, eso es lo que siempre he pensado.

Crochet blanket in summer bring on me that warm and cosy effect that invites everyone to sit down with a glass of wine in hand under the dome of stars in the sky and enjoy good talks and memories in good company. I don't know why I've always associated those ideas: summer evenings, gardens, crochet blankets, stars in the sky, cups of vine and good talks. I suppose they are memories tie in my childhood.

Las mantas a ganchillo en verano me producen ese efecto cálido y acogedor que invita a sentarse con una copa de vino en la mano bajo el cielo estrellado y disfrutar de buenas charlas y recuerdos en buena compañía. No sé por qué siempre he asociado esas ideas: tardes de verano, jardines, mantas de crochet, estrellas en el cielo, copas de vino y buenas charlas. Supongo que son recuerdos asociados con mi niñez.

And this new crochet blanket blend very well with the reversible crochet pillow that I made several summers ago and showed you HERE. ¿Doesn't it look cosy and bright set?

Y esta nueva manta a ganchillo casa muy bien con el cojín reversible que tejí hace varios veranos y os mostré AQUÍ. ¿No os parece un conjunto tierno y luminoso?

To crochet this blanket, I used the Granny Motif that I showed to you HERE. At that time I began to crochet the blanket, but for some reason (probably another more absorbing crochet project in mind) I put that project aside and it remained unfinished. I rescued it from semi-oblivion this summer and now you are finally seeing the result.

Para tejer esta manta, utilicé el Motivo Granny que os presenté AQUÍ. En ese momento comencé a tejer la manta, pero por algún motivo (probablemente otro proyecto de ganchillo más absorbente en aquel momento) aparté ese proyecto y quedó sin terminar. Este verano lo he rescatado el semi-olvido y ahora estáis viendo por fin el resultado.

This is a very easy crochet motif to make and join into a blanket. And the blanket can be as large as you wish, from a small/medium size like the one you see here to a large one that will wrap your body in warmth on summer nights. It's up to you. All that remains for me to say is that I'm very happy to finally finish this crochet garden blanket.

Este es un motivo de crochet muy fácil de hacer y unir para formar una manta. Y la manta puede ser tan grande como desees, desde el tamaño pequeño/mediano que ves aquí hasta una grande que envuelva confortablemente tu cuerpo en las noches de verano. Tú decides. Solo me queda decir que estoy muy feliz de haber terminado por fin esta manta de crochet para jardín.

Well, I'm going to get a little bit serious now. I haven't posted here on the blog or published on my social networks for many months, due to several reasons, some of them not very pleasant. It has required a time of silence out from many things so that to attend new life circumstances. However, I have been crocheting a lot because crochet has always been one of tmy best therapies. I also used this period to take up some crochet projects that had been left half-finished, like this one today. I will show you more in following posts.

During these month of silence, a very good friend of mine was by my side giving me support and love. I can never thank her enough. As a result of that  we have shared delightful moments, full of complicity and crazy ideas. This is how a new project that we are both very excited about has taken shape.

I'ill talk to you about it in a next post. I hope you will also find it just as interesting as us.

Bueno, ahora me voy a poner un poco más seria. Llevo muchos meses sin publicar aquí en el blog y sin presencia en mis RRSS por diversos motivos, algunos de ellos no muy felices ni agradables. Respecto a estos últimos sólo deseo mencionar que han precisado un periodo de silencio y de apartarme de muchas cosas que mantenían mi tiempo y mi mente ocupados para poder retomar la vida bajo nuevas circunstancias. Sin embargo, he tejido mucho porque tejer ha sido siempre para mí una de las mejores terapias. He aprovechado para retomar y terminar proyectos que se habían quedado a medias, como éste de hoy. Os los iré mostrando en sucesivos post.

Durante este tiempo de silencio, una muy buena amiga ha estado siempre a mi lado reconfortándome cuando era preciso. Nunca se lo podré agradecer lo bastante. Fruto de ese tiempo que hemos compartido, lleno de complicidades e ideas, un nuevo proyecto que nos ilusiona mucho a ambas se ha ido perfilando y tomando forma. 

En el próximo post os hablaré ya de ello y espero que también vosotras lo encontréis igual de interesante.

And, finally, it has also been a time to notice and catch the beauty of life that surrounds us everywhere, even in the smallest details, sometimes with my camera nearby to capture them: tiny beauty, ephemeral moments that I have been treasuring day by day. Todo este tiempo transcurrido me ha servido también para detenerme y observar la belleza que la vida nos ofrece en los más pequeños detalles, a veces con la cámara fotográfica cerca para retenerlos: Belleza diminuta, momentos efímeros que he ido atesorando.
